Rare reveals what's on the horizon for Sea of Thieves

Inn-side Story #26: Content Plans for Summer 2018 & Beyond

What's next for Sea of Thieves

The Hungering Deep will be the first content update to be released in Sea of Thieves and is now scheduled for some time in May. In addition, some new weekly events with new mechanics will be added.

Sea of Thieves design director Mike Chapman and executive producer Joe Neate talked about the development roadmap for the game in a new video and how Rare plans new "ways to enrich the world" and deliver "things that surprise you".

Three more major content updates will arrive in the fall and winter for Sea of Thieves. Neate also alluded to the introduction of new ways for crews to communicate with one another.

"As we've always said, launch is just the start for Sea of Thieves, and we are going to grow and evolve the game with feedback from our community".

Rare break down their content plans in the video above.

National Football League reportedly suspends Mark Sanchez four games
He has been mostly a backup since being released by NY after the 2013 season, starting just 10 games over the last four years. Sanchez, who said he was blindsided by the suspension, said he had only tested positive for banned substances in one test.

oWeekly events will introduce new mechanics, or see fun goals for players to achieve in our world. Those events will introduce new mechanics, new ways to play with things like new hidden treasures, trading companies, and other things that enhance the world.

The Hungering Deep is due in May and will add "a new AI threat" to the game world. We will also be introducing a number of new mechanics that will assist players on this adventure, and there will be unique rewards that players can earn as part of this event.

During the Summer, the Cursed Sails event will welcome a new ship type and Forsaken Shores will open up the Sea of Thieves to a new world for players to explore. Rare said that this change in focus is a direct result of player feedback, and that it will continue to listen to the community as to which direction the game will be heading. These are on the back burner for now whilst we add to the game in other areas. Unfortunately, new features such as Pets and Ship Captaincy have now been delayed, but they're still in the pipeline. Expect plans to continue to be fluid but always with the goals listed above as a guiding principle.

Possibly more exciting for players is a new ship type being introduced to Sea of Thieves.
