The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has posted a Flash Flood Watch for Garrett County... Bands of showers and thunderstorms could produce 1 to 3 inches of rain, with locally higher totals along the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge.
As more heavy rain and thunderstorms pass through the area, a flash flood watch will remain in effect in parts of southeast Louisiana and southern MS until 6 a.m. Sunday (April 15), according to the National Weather Service.
The watch is for counties along the east end of Lake Ontario: Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis and Ontario. Forecasters warned that risky flash flooding is still possible.
A strong cold front will approach the area from the west this afternoon and pass across the region tonight. Motorists should be prepared for torrential downpours and potential flooding as storms move through.
