Danny Amendola expected to sign with Dolphins

After shining with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Danny Amendola will try to do the same with another AFC East side in the Miami Dolphins.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola is reportedly set to sign with the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL Network's Dan Hellie.

Amendola followed that up with a stellar postseason performance.

Amendola, 32, averaged 46 receptions and 477 yards over the last five seasons with New England.

He's coming off a decent 2017 regular season where he had 61 catches for 659 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He made 57 catches for 709 yards and 6 touchdowns in 13 career playoff games with the Pats, including 26 for 348 yards and 2 scores in his most recent 3 games. They also still have Brandin Cooks and Chris Hogan on the outside, as well as Phillip Dorsett and Kenny Britt. Amendola never saw more targets over a full season in New England than the 87 he got in 2015. He was instrumental in the team's come-from-behind victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship game earlier this year, scoring twice after Rob Gronkowski was forced to exit the game. They obviously value the competitiveness, toughness, and character that he adds to their locker room.

Amendola is also an experienced return specialist, which could mean he'll push receiver/returner Jakeem Grant for his role.
