Trump Floats Having Space Force

"We have the air force. We will have a space force" Trump said

Tuesday, US President Donald Trump floated the idea of having a national Space Force during a speech at a California Marine Corps Air Station.

But that didn't stop President Trump for advocating for a "Space Force" today.

The proposed Space Corps would have functioned like the Marine Corps does within the US Navy; it would have been responsible for overseeing all of the Air Force's operations in space. We have the Air Force.

"So think of that, Space Force, because we are spending a lot and we have a lot of private money coming in, tremendous", the President said.

Donald Trump has proposed a new brand of armed forces - which he's dubbed the "space force".

Packers make deal with defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson
He can stop the run, rush the passer, and create interior pressure that wreaks havoc and opens opportunities for other players. The New York Jets defense finished top 10 in most major categories, and Wilkerson's performance was a big reason for that.

"We should have a new force called the Space Force", Trump said Tuesday.

The 1967 "Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, Including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies" (real title!), sought to prevent "a new form of colonial competition" in space, which a "Space Force" sounds like it would be.

(The U.S. Air Force has an unmanned space plane, the X-37B, which has completed several clandestine missions.) Still, the voluntary agreement has managed to prevent war in space for the past 51 years. We are going to lead the way in space. But he may be thinking of the National Defense Authorization Act that he signed into law in December. However, the bill does leave the door open to a future space-related branch, The Hill reports, by requiring the Secretary of Defense to study the possibility of creating a space-related military branch someday.

At first, Trump said he wasn't serious about the notion.

It's not entirely clear what he means by "develop another one".
