In a major setback for the Samajwadi party, its General Secretary and Rajya Sabha member Naresh Agarwal is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday. "He is welcome. However, his comments regarding Jaya Bachhan ji are improper and unacceptable", the external affairs minister tweeted.
At the press conference headed by Senior BJP leader Piyush Goyal in New Delhi to officially welcome Naresh in the party, the latter spewed his distaste for Jaya Bachchan along with the lines, "it was even more painful that his ticket has been given to a someone who dances in films". Bachchan is a three-time MP and was first elected to the Upper House by the Samajwadi Party in 2004 till March 2006.
At this party spokesman Sambit Patra, who was on the dais said, "Before Mr Agrawal is handed over the joining certificate, we want to say that no profession is bad. Meri koi shart par nahi aya, koi Rajya Sabka ki ticket ki maang nahi hai", Naresh Agrawal said on joining BJP.
CPI inflation eases to four-month low of 4.44% in February 2018
Retail inflation fell to a 4-month low of 4.44 percent in February on cheaper food articles and lower cost for fuel. In February, consumer food price index softened to 3.26 per cent as against 4.7 per cent in January.
"I have not joined the Bharatiya Janata Party for any Rajya Sabha ticket, nor have I set any condition". "The fact that one after the other all states are going to BJP proves that the entire country is with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership", he said. Aggarwal, a leader belonging to Akhilesh Yadav-camp, also held the office of party's national spokesperson. We have always welcomed leaders from Samajwadi Party with open arms since these are 2 very like-minded parties.
"My society is already with BJP".
Agrawal, who was in the Congress earlier, is not new to controversy. He subsequently joined the Bahujan Samaj Party before returning to the Samajwadi Party.
