Bharti Airtel rose over 1 percent on fund raising reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 440.53 points, or 1.77 per cent, to end at 25,335.74, the S&P 500 gained 1.74 per cent and the Nasdaq Composite added 132.86 points, or 1.79 per cent, to 7,560.81.
NTPC climbed 4.33 per cent after Moody's Investors Service has assigned a Baa2 rating to the proposed senior unsecured United States dollars notes to be issued by NTPC Limited.
"Firm global cues and expectation of ease in domestic inflation to 4.74% excited investors to utilise the bargain opportunity". Both the benchmark indices gained 2 per cent during the day. "The fear of global trade war is somewhat factored in the market while, increase in United States payroll data suggest stability in the economy, which boosted the global trade", Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services Ltd said.

Intel acquired autonomous vehicle technology firm Mobileye previous year and acquired programmable chip maker Altera in late 2015. The WSJ also reports that Intel could be looking at other options as well such as smaller acquisitions to remain competitive.
