With Robinson coming off of an ACL tear, a three-year deal makes a ton of sense and the good thing is he'll only be 27-years-old when the deal is up. The Penn State product had accumulated 2,831 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns on 201 catches in the first three seasons in the NFL.
The majority of those yards, specifically in 2015, were made on the deep ball, as Robinson caught 19 balls for 672 yards on passes that were thrown over 20 yards. The veteran missed all of 2017 with a torn ACL. If you're a fan of any of the other teams who were pursuing Robinson, you should be upset, because he was affordable. While his catches didn't drop much the next year (73), the receivers yardage dropped to 883 and his touchdowns to six. Injuries have dogged the Bears at the position with Kevin White going out for the season past year in Week 1 and Cameron Meredith missing the entire season with a torn ACL. Last offseason Pace tried to fill Jeffery's absence by signing Markus Wheaton, Kendall Wright and Victor Cruz in free agency to complement Cameron Meredith and Kevin White.
Robinson would fit many schemes, but he does come with some considerable risk. Some of the league's top insiders reported Pace and company being big time players for some of the top free agents available this year. When Robinson didn't receive the franchise tag and didn't agree to a deal with the Jaguars by Monday at 11 a.m., he was free to talk to other teams.

The Bears certainly aren't done adding at receiver.
Allen Robinson posted a picture to his Instagram page late last month and the wide receiver was posing on the front entry of a home wearing workout trousers, a knit hat, a gray jacket over a Cubs jerseys and great big smile.
Bottom line, you don't bring in a player like Robinson to be a decoy.
