Report Former Titans RB De Marco Murray has meeting with Lions

Murray is scheduled to visit with the Lions on Monday, Adam Schefter of reports. Murray was released by the Tennessee Titans after two seasons last week.

Both DeMarco Murray and Jonathan Stewart are veteran running backs who appear to be slowing down.

The Lions leading rusher last season was third-year running back Ameer Abdullah, who ran for 552 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games, 11 as the starter.

In 2014, Murray ran for 1,845 yards while playing for the Dallas Cowboys and was named Offensive Player of the Year. Theo Riddick ran for 286 yards, and Tion Green piled up 165 yards (in 42 attempts). He does have 162 catches for 1,295 yards and seven receiving touchdowns in his career, but hasn't caught more than 10 passes in a single season since 2015, which was the lone year that saw him earn a spot in the Pro Bowl.

The Lions ranked as or among the worst rushing teams in football last season.

The three-time pro bowler has more than 7,000 rushing yards and almost 50 touchdowns in his seven year National Football League career. In 2017, he carried the ball 198 times for 680 yards - just 3.4 a carry.
