Report: 49ers linked to top free agent offensive lineman Andrew Norwell

The Jaguars extended a contract offer that would make Norwell the highest-paid guard in league history with a five-year, $66.5 million deal including $30 million guaranteed.

Norwell, 26, has been one of the NFL's best guards during his four seasons in Carolina. Ian Rapoport of has since reported that the newly inked pact is a three-year deal worth $42 million with $25 million coming in the form of guaranteed money.

A report on Monday indicated guard Andrew Norwell had cut his list of suitors down to the Giants, 49ers and Colts, but the picture changed on Tuesday morning. Former Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman was attempting to lure Norwell to the Giants as part of a rebuilt offensive line. He was named a first-team All-Pro in 2017 and has started all but one of his 55 game appearances over his four National Football League seasons, including 16 starts in each of the last two seasons.

Some of the standouts include Catie Turner , Run Bultongez, Maddie Poppe , Harper Grace , Alyssa Raghu and Dennis Lorenzo . And it was a "heck yes" from Katy! Noah Davis brought his love of alpacas and his wig-based lexicon to his audition.

Norwell wasn't invited to the combine in 2014 and went undrafted out of Ohio State, but started nine games (playing in 10) for the Panthers as a rookie, earning a starting job midway through the year.

Norwell immediately solidifies the left side of the Jacksonville line that already had Cam Robinson at left tackle.
