The wide receiver well in this year's free agent class dried up pretty quickly with Sammy Watkins now also off the board (along with Allen Robinson) after he reportedly agreed to a 3-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Watkins, a Florida native, was drafted No. 4 overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2014 National Football League draft. ESPN's Josina Anderson reported that the deal was worth three years and $42 million. He recorded 125 catches for 2,029 yards and 15 touchdowns in his first two seasons (29 games), but a broken bone in his foot caused him to miss the first eight contests of the 2016 campaign. Those numbers don't jump off the page, but Watkins didn't take on the role of No. 1 receiver in L.A. He had a knack for finding the end zone, however, catching eight touchdowns. He spent the first three seasons of his career in Buffalo before being traded to the Rams in in August.
Craig Mack Has Passed Away At The Age Of 46
He was ready". " Craig is hip-hop's George Clinton, because his stuff is really off the wall", Diddy had told the Times . According to the New York Daily News , Mack died of heart failure in hospital near his home in SC on Monday, 12 March.
The Rams had considered using the franchise tag on Watkins, but opted instead to tag safety Lamarcus Joyner. Watkins hasn't played a full season since his rookie year. The Chiefs traded QB Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins this offseason but they have Patrick Mahomes, who was drafted 10th overall in 2017. That's unfortunate, and not the way they planned it, although the Rams likely will receive a compensatory third-round draft pick in 2019 for the loss of Watkins to free agency.
