Chelsea monitoring Arsenal star with view to making summer bid

Aaron Ramsey reveals reason for stalled contract talks at Arsenal

Chelsea prepare shock bid for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey

The 27-year-old confirmed that there was "nothing" to say about tying himself down to the Gunners, and the Daily Mail have claimed that Chelsea have entered the hunt for his signing with his contract situation as it is.

When pressed on the latest regarding his contract by BT Sport, Ramsey replied: "Nothing to comment on at the moment".

In response to whether his contract is further down the priority list at Arsenal, Ramsey responded: "I think so".

The Gunners will be keen to tie him to a new deal, but after the debacle involving Ozil and Sanchez, they may look to sell him this summer if they can not get him to agree terms.

Chelsea are 7/4 to seal a deal for Ramsey who may be tempted by a move away from the Gunners.

Arsenal spent much time convincing Ozil to sign a new contract and tried to tie Sanchez to a new deal before he left for Manchester United. I don't know what you look for.

Wenger added that the values of the club would convince players to extend their contracts, with Wilshere out of contract this summer. But, Ramsey as a player still is a lucrative target for clubs that need a box-to-box midfielder or an advanced playmaker of sorts, in their team. According to L'Equipe, the Giallorossi have identified Toulouse's highly-rated 19-year-old Alban-Marc Lafont as his potential replacement, encouraging those teams - primarily Liverpool, Napoli and Paris St-Germain, though Real Madrid have suddenly emerged as credible suitors - who want to sign the 25-year-old Brazilian.

Aaron Ramsey, on the other hand is one of the few options Arsenal have in the midfield department with Xhaka and Wilshere being the others.

'We want our players to be proud of the values that have been created by people.
