AmazonBasics Power Bank

Amazon recalls 260000 chargers due to overheating risk

All listings for these power banks have already been removed from the Amazon website and they can no longer be purchased.

However, that brand has been tarnished a little today on news that some AmazonBasics power banks are a fire hazard, and Amazon sold these faulty accessories for almost three years.

In an advisory from the United States Consumer Product Safety commission, end users are asked to "immediately unplug and stop using the recalled power banks and contact Amazon for instructions on how to return the unit and receive a full refund".

The models affected by this recall include the 2,000mAh, 3,000mAh, 5,600mAh, 10,000mAh, and 16,100mAh models with micro-USB cable.
