The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor and is expected to be available in three variants - 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM along with 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage.

There's been a lot of confusion surrounding Xiaomi's first low-priced "full screen" smartphones, which went official in China back in December as the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, despite rampant Redmi Note 5 speculation at one point leading up to their launches.

The Redmi Note 5 specifications leaked so far suggest the device will be a significant upgrade over its predecessor.

We will have to wait for a couple of days to find out what exactly will be launched here in India.

It remains to be seen if Xiaomi opts for Android TV platform in the India version of the Mi TV models or it continues with PatchWall, which is present in the Chinese Mi TVs. There are various changes expected in the new Redmi Note 5 in terms of design and display.

As you can see in the picture above, the ball is placed about halfway between the one- and two-yard lines. And even a little bit beyond two.

The second variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be somewhat more powerful to offer a slightly higher hardware.

Just like their every other smartphone launch, Xiaomi will be LIVE streaming the launch of Redmi Note 5 and viewers just need a sign in on Facebook to watch the official launch of Note 4's successor.

The new render showing the front side of the device hints at 18:9 ratio display with nearly no bezels for the upcoming Redmi Note 5.

While the Redmi Note 5, thanks to its earlier launch in China, is a strongly anticipated device here with advance reviews marking it out as another potential victor, this time it has company. This device is likely the Mi TV because there is no phone from the company which is so thin from one side.

Xiaomi India will be hosting an event in the National Capital on February 14. Xiaomi's teasers and invite have also indicated a change in display. A 1.5 GHz quad-core Amlogic L962 Cortex-A53 processor with 750MHz Mali-450 MP3 GPU powers this device along with 2 GB RAM. Clients can expect comparative storage and RAM alternatives as the last year's Redmi Note 4. Additionally, it could sport an 8-megapixel front camera sensor with 1080p video recording. On the battery front, Xiaomi is expected to stick with a 4000 mAh one on board like the Redmi Note 4 series.
