Quincy Jones created mayhem on the Internet in January 2018 after he spilled major industry secrets about Michael Jackson, The Beatles, and Marvin Gaye in two recent interviews he did with GQ and Vulture.
Among other topics in the candid interviews, he said Michael Jackson stole music from other artists, he doesn't want to see Oprah Winfrey ever become US president, modern music lacks innovation, he's not a fan of Taylor Swift's music, and he once thought the Beatles were bad musicians.
Jones has revealed that it took a "family intervention" from his kids (including Parks and Rec star Rashida Jones) for him to understand that he may have taken things a tad too far with what he terms his "wordvomit". "I am sorry to anyone whom my words offended, and I am especially sorry to my friends who are still here with me and those who aren't".
He thanked friends and family who called him out and signed off delightfully, with confusing emoji-like structure: "So, I encourage you all to please grow with me & keep on keepin' on. To my dear family and friends.thank you for your grace", wrote Jones.
After causing quite a commotion with a pair of candid interviews, Quincy Jones is issuing an apology. "Q, was once a brilliant music producer who is losing his mind, and made a decision to garner publicity for himself with a sensationalized interview", she wrote on February 8.
As India, Pakistan armies exchange fire in Uri, people flee to safety
Meanwhile, an Army commando was injured in a gunfight with militants in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir . Two Pakistani terrorists and three Indian soldiers were also injured in the gunfight, the Army said.
Do YOU think Quincy got stuff wrong?
Jones also claimed he dated President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka, when she was 24 and he was 72, and criticised Taylor Swift and U2's music. He could dance his ass off. He'd f-k anything. Anything!
Richard Pryor's daughter, Rain, was also angered by the interview, and posted on Facebook that Jones "is losing his mind".
It sounds like Jones was humbled by his daughters. That same year, he tied the knot with his third wife, Peggy Lipton.
