According to the Sacramento Bee, the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings will play in a preseason game at KeyArena. The report is according to Ailene Voisin of the Sacramento Bee and this match will mark the first National Basketball Association game in Seattle since the SuperSonics moved to Oklahoma City in 2008.
In December, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was approved by the Seattle City Council for an estimated $600 million renovation of the arena by the Oak View Group. Because the rebuild is scheduled to begin in October, the preseason game would potentially have to be played at a different location in Seattle. The renovation is expected to be complete in time for the 2020-2021 National Hockey League season.

In 2013, the National Basketball Association board of governors voted against a proposal for an investment group led by Chris Hansen to purchase the Kings and move them to Seattle. While regular season records are important to secure home court advantage, they also know that it's not the sole basis of gauging their campaign's success. The match itself will be played on Saturday, October 6th at the Key Arena in Seattle. In his one year as a Sonic, Durant won Rookie of the Year while averaging 20.3 points and 4.4 rebounds.
Voisin reports that while the contract for the game hasn't been officially signed yet, the game is considered a formality.
