Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson dies at 48 years of age



The Oscar-nominated composer was found dead at his apartment in Berlin, Germany, on Friday, according to multiple reports. He was reportedly found dead in his apartment, and his death was confirmed by his manager, but the cause of death is now unknown.

Rosalie Voss, who runs Redbird's European office, said: "We are waiting to find out more in the coming days".

Johannsson also received an Oscar nomination for the 2015 movie Sicario.

He won the Golden Globe for Best Original Score for "The Theory of Everything", about physicist Stephen Hawking. He is survived by his daughter, parents and three sisters. "We have lost one of the most talented and brilliant people who we had the privilege of knowing and working with".
