Conte warns Chelsea before West Brom: 'Don't be stupid'

Antonio Conte

'Madrid is always Madrid' says Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata who hints he could return to Real

Conte has come under fire for Chelsea shipping seven goals in two matches but the players took collective responsibility after returning from three days off. When he arrived at Chelsea and recommended a move for Higuain, it was Juventus who thwarted him, spending £75million to take the prolific Argentina striker from Napoli. Morata has since not featured in a game for the Blues while failing to recover from the pain.

Despite his firm warning to the board and the club, Conte insisted he would leave Stamford Bridge without a fuss.

These are not exactly desperate times but we have to bounce back with a win against West Brom on Monday. I don't know why, but it happened.

"I don't know [when he'll be back] because he has this problem and we tried a lot to find a solution to solve the pain in his back".

Asked if his players' improvement makes requesting transfers hard, he added: "You are not the first person to suggest this - not the first person to tell me this". 'The job he did past year was absolutely outstanding and I don't think he's changed too much. After you play a lot of games every three days, it's very hard for every player, especially if you go through in every competition like we have. "We have to try to stop this bad run and try to get three points against West Brom", Conte told press on Friday.

However, the Blues have struggled to stay at the top of the pile this season, with Manchester City dominating the rest of the league.

Lane Johnson: Eagles players have fun, Patriots players have fear
Patriots & @Eagles players had incredible reactions to @NFoles_9's TD catch known as the "Philly Special". Instead, it's Foles, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and this year's Super Bowl MVP.

Two cornerstones in Chelsea's defensive line, Conte will be praying that they are fit in time to face Barcelona in the Champions League. But after failing to mount a title defence this season, Conte's job has put him under scrutiny. "For this, I'm very good", he said.

"I don't think talking about my future can affect the players".

"My task is to try and improve every single player, in every aspect", Conte said.

"I think that, in my opinion, a manager, a coach. you continue to work with a manager or coach not because of what he achieves in one season, but because you trust in him".

"But our focus is very much on Chelsea, because if we can get a result there it can make up for the defeat against Southampton".
