2018 Winter Olympics: Snowboarding comeback kid Shaun White hounded after perfect 100

Team USA swept snowboarding events at the Winter Games, with Chloe Kim winning the women's halfpipe, Jamie Anderson winning the women's slopestyle, Red Gerard winning the men's slopestyle and White winning the men's halfpipe.

As soon as he finished his fun, he lifted both of his hands in the air, realizing he gave the run he needed to earn Olympic Gold.

White won gold in a thrilling halfpipe final, scoring 97.75 to relegate Hirano into silver after the Japanese rider had put up 95.25 with his second run.

The issue resurfaced as White celebrated winning Olympic gold in South Korea after a brilliant final run which included his first ever back-to-back frontside double cork 1440 and cab (backwards) double cork 1440.

Normally a bit more reserved during the qualifying rounds, White, along with No. 2 Scotty James (Australia) and No. 3 Ayumu Hirano (Japan), continued to one-up each other throughout the second heat.

There were no flawless scores and no arguments about judging as the world's greatest snowboarder and his young contemporary left Scotty James with a halfpipe bronze medal at the Winter Olympics.

Olympic snowboarder Shaun White shocked and thrilled a South Korean restaurateur this week when he showed up at the man's restaurant and ordered the special million-won burger the chef had designed just for him.

Officials do not believe the incident is related to terrorism, Scripps station WMAR in Baltimore reported. The FBI tweeted it "is aware of the incident at Fort Meade " and is sending personnel to the scene.

White joins fellow American Kelly Clark (who won a gold and two bronzes) on top of the overall medal tally for the sport. They're all here for me today.

Earlier in qualifying James, who fired up much of the debate by questioning White's ideal 100 from a World Cup meet last month before bemoaning some of the scores he received, eased into with an 89-point first run. White did not reach the podium at the 2014 Winter Games.

"I was so overwhelmed with happiness, I've been through so much to get here".

He was absolutely fearless in his first run with super giant height on his first jump and just kept the momentum going from there.

At a press conference hours after his win, White was asked by reporters if he thought the claims would tarnish his reputation.

In his initial response to the suit, White reportedly said, "Many years ago, I exchanged texts with a friend who is now using them to craft a bogus lawsuit". "I had this insane injury in New Zealand where I busted my face open". That really helped me. "I'm just truly sorry", he told anchors Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie.
