Paramount Network drops Red Band trailer for 'Heathers' reboot

The reimagined anthology is done in the tone and spirit of the Daniel Waters cult hit

We've seen exciting 30-second sneak peaks, but today we saw the full-length trailer.

First off, each season will center around an entirely new group of Heathers (à la American Horror Story), starting with an unexpected trio including a genderqueer boy.

But here we are, with a modern reboot of Heathers, only with a new trio of Heathers cast as a body positive bully, a gender-binary guy, and an African-American fashionista. Heather Chandler (Melanie Field) is the leader of the clique and rules Westerburg High with fear, savage quips, and an incredible fashion sense. The tone is so sardonic that it reminds me heavily of Ryan Murphy's messy, acerbic teen TV dramedies like Scream Queens - which may not bode well for the Heathers reboot. Enter J.D. (James Scully), who grabs Veronica's attention with his "rebel thing". The "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress, who played Heather Duke in the original film feature, is set to guest star in three episodes of the 10-part series. Heather Duke (Brendan Scannell) is Heather C's #1 sidekick and harnesses the Heather's power to destroy whoever he views as a total discount hobgoblin.

From the last game at Bournemouth , we have some uncertainties with Maitland-Niles, who was sick yesterday with flu. "He is like a teacher".

Heathers the TV series will premiere on the Paramount Network in the United States on March 7, although there's no word yet on when we might see it here.

Heathers stars Jasmine Mathews, Brendan Scannell, Melanie Field, James Scully, Grace Victoria Cox and Selma Blair. Heather McNamara (Jasmine Mathews) is considered the nicest Heather in the group who lives in the shadow of the others.
