BSNL to offer more data, validity under select prepaid plans

Jio effect: Airtel Rs. 399 plan with 1GB data per day now with 70 days validity

Earlier this week, telecom operator Airtel revised its prepaid plans priced at ₹448 and ₹509 to compete with telecom operators like Vodafone and Jio.

"Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced BSNL "Happy Offer" for prepaid mobile customers - 43 per cent extra validity and 50 per cent additional data with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls for prepaid mobile customers", the company said in a statement.

Other freebies with the two recharge packs include unlimited calls to any network across India (up to 250 minutes a day, 1,000 minutes a week), no charges for calls on roaming, and 100 SMSes per day. Under the offer, a new BSNL customer can avail free 2GB of data for a validity period of 30 days.

Also, do not forget to check out a list of all other packs that offer 1GB 4G data daily. The company offers unlimited calling, free roaming, 100 SMS per day and 1GB 4G/3G data per day. Also, Jio is cheaper than Airtel and Vodafone. In the same way, a recharge of Rs 666 will give 1.5GB per day data with a validity of 129 days.

Vodafone offers 1GB 4G/3G data per day at Rs 509. The former comes with a validity of 54 days, while the latter comes with 81 days of validity. This means users will get 84GB of data during the validity period, up from 70GB.

Newcomer Jio continued to steadily climb in terms of market share, taking it to 13.08%, up from 12.39% in October, 11.72% in September and 11.19% in August, as per data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) Thursday.

Vodafone had announced its prepaid plans priced at ₹458 and ₹509 back in November past year. In all other circles, buyers will get 84-day and 91-day validity with the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 prepaid packs.
