Auto Expo 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift third generation to launch on February 7

The new Swift is based on the 5th generation of the HEARTECT platform and it has grown in terms of dimensions. The Maruti Suzuki Swift's next generation, successor to the already hugely popular model is officially being launched at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2018. The luggage space has been increased by 58 litres and the headroom is enhanced by 24mm. The all-new Swift can be booked with an initial payment of INR 11,000. The auto gets new alloys, floating roof design and new front and rear bumpers. "In its newest avatar, the Swift undergoes a bold transformation to meet the aspiration of the young and ever-changing customer". The Swift, which continues to feature among the top five best selling cars in India for over a decade, now comes with a brand new design. The superhatch is scheduled to be launched at the Auto Expo 2018 in February, where its prices will also be announced.

The engines on offer in the new Swift are the K12 VVT Petrol and the DDiS 190 Diesel. It gets single-aperture front grille design, floating roof, wrap around windows and windshield with unified DLO (day light opening) graphic, sleek projector headlamps with DRLs and would rids on precision cut two-tone alloy wheels.

Probably the most awaited vehicle of the year, the Maruti Suzuki Swift is scheduled to be launched in India at the Auto Expo next month.

"The all new Swift with its distinctive design, advanced technology, uplifting performance and enduring driver experience will bring disruption in the premium hatchback segment", said R.S. Kalsi, senior executive director (marketing and sales) at Maruti Suzuki India.

On the interior front, the Swift gets a new console, a new touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, and new controls. The new Swift also gets a lot of safety technology as part of standard equipment including dual airbags, ABS with EBD and the ISOFIX Child restraint system. The new Swift will be the first model to sell via this channel.
