The Ultra Game Boy removes the need for a separate Android phone, and slims down the form factor quite a bit.
The original Game Boy is making a comeback 28 years after it was first released thanks to a stylish remake of the handheld console.
Taking advantage of the wave of enthusiasm for old school hardware, gaming peripheral maker Hyperkin announced at CES 2018 this week that it is working on an updated version of Nintendo's Game Boy that will actually play original Game Boy games in addition to featuring countless improvements over the original hardware. While rumors of a "Game Boy Classic" have been around for a while, though, another company might beat Nintendo to the punch. But it's not clear yet if it will provide emulator-style benefits like Super Game Boy color palettes, save states, and the ability to save ROM images of your actual cartridges.
Hyperkin is looking to bring back the beloved Game Boy this summer. It's also housed in an aluminum casing, giving it far more durability than the plastic Game Boy shells we're all used to.
Vivo is the first Smartphone Manufacturer to use Under-Display Fingerprint Scanner
The handset was a bit slower in learning the contours of the user's fingerprint and unlocking the device using the fingerprint. One such product is the next-gen. biometric scanning technology developed by Synaptics and implemented on a Vivo smartphone.
It's still in the development stages, and isn't an official Nintendo Game Boy, but it's modelled off the classic Game Boy, is handheld, and uses all your old game cartridges.
As USB Type-C port is on offer to take care of charging an inbuilt battery which is slated to last six hours. It also retains the original's volume and contrast dials, but a third dial (which will be included in the final design) will allow you to adjust the new backlit LCD display's RGB spectrum. Stereo audio is another big feature on the Ultra GB, which was implemented with Chiptune musicians in mind.
Hyperkin's Game Boy clone is expected to arrive near the end of summer for under $100.
