Ivanka Trump shared in the near-universal praise for Oprah Winfrey's speech at the Golden Globes, but her opinion was still met with furious criticism.

However, the First Daughter's endorsement hasn't gone down too well, to put it mildly.

Winfrey's confidante Gayle King, however said on Tuesday, after Winfrey's speech at a Hollywood awards show thrust her name into the political arena, that she was not considering it now.

Oprah Winfrey's rousing speech earned her a standing ovation. The 2018 Golden Globes kept the sexual harassment or assault in the spotlight throughout the event, multiple presenters and victor addressed the issue.

It began with Donald Trump, Jr., who tweeted: "In case anyone had any doubts about where the media stands, this should take care of it". Let's all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP!

The message was immediately met with a wave of critical and exasperated responses.

The biggest winners at the Golden Globes were indie movies "Lady Bird" and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri".

Beyond the usual thank yous, stars' speeches were sprinkled with support for women and encouragement for victims of sexual harassment, assault or abuse to not be silenced and to speak up.

Actor Tara Strong tweeted, "I'm sorry @IvankaTrump but unless you wish to call out your own father for his taped admission to assaulting women, your desire to join the sisterhood can not be taken with any validity ..."

Also, why does Ivanka still think she has authority talk about empowerment, considering the women who work for her brand are given little to no benefits, have particularly low wages and she recently advocated to shut down an Obama-era rule that prevented employers from wage discrimination.

While the 63-year-old media mogul told Bloomberg News backstage that she has no plans to run, an anonymous report from CNN that she is "actively thinking" about a bid fanned the flames on Monday.

Multiple women have gone on the record to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct, with their accounts dating back to the early 1980s.

"So, it wasn't a hard choice to pick black even though I would've picked red if someone would've asked me, I would've made all the women to wear red because I think it is the strongest color".
