Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze hits Switch on May 4

While the new version of the game for Switch will largely be a port of the Wii U version, the Switch version of Tropical Freeze will also pack in a few new features.

Nintendo has announced that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is coming to the Nintendo Switch. It's not that imaginative, inventive, original or quirky, though, and after New Super Mario Bros U or the superb Rayman Legends it feels conservative'. The game will run at 1080p in TV mode, and feature single Joy-Con split-screen local multiplayer as well.

Balloon World Competitive Mini-Game
In the latter, the player has 30 seconds to find balloons hidden by players from around the world. Super Mario Odyssey's free update comes in February 2018.

Tropical Freeze was easily one of the finest games available for Wii U, and now the game is set to make its way to Switch. In it, you will take control of Funky Kong, a character that has unique abilities like double jump, spin infinitely, float and swim better than anybody else.

Are you excited about playing Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on the Switch? We don't have an official release date for Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition just yet, though Nintendo says that it'll be available this spring. It means that many people missed out on some incredible games - and thankfully, they're making their way over to Nintendo's Switch.
