Fans reacted in shock last weekend when a trailer for an unexpected new Crocodile Dundee film dropped on the internet.

The Son of a Legend Returns Home, supposedly stars Australian actor Chris Hemsworth alongside American actor Danny McBride, who plays the US-born offspring of Paul Hogan's iconic character.

Though you likely haven't heard a damn thing about it until today, there's apparently some sort of Crocodile Dundee revival slithering onto screens in a few months.

IMDb lists the production company as Rimfire Films, which notably produced the original Crocodile Dundee.

Still...the thought of Danny McBride starring in a fish-out-water comedy with Chris Hemsworth in full "lovable idiot" mode is undeniably alluring.

Just days after a trailer for the mysterious project surprised the world, a new clip has been teased featuring the Thor star.

Hollywood commemorates Heath Ledger's death, 10 years on
Watts and Ledger , both Australians, were in a relationship from 2002 to 2003, and remained close friends until his death in 2008. Kate also does her best to keep Heath's memory alive with her own kids, who were very young at the time of his tragic demise.

"Crocodile Dundee is a film that has stood the test of time". The official synopsis for Dundee has been released as well and it looks to be a legit movie. When the elder Dundee goes missing in the Outback, the only person that can possibly find him is his loudmouth American city boy son.

32 years after it hit cinemas, a fourth film is on the way - Dundee: The Son of A Legend Returns Home. Brian will have to channel his Aussie roots and embark on a new adventure in the land down under. The third instalment, Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles (2001), centred on Dundee living completely out of his element in LA with his young son and it failed to meet the success of its predecessors. "It's time to live up to the family name".

We are very curious to see what comes next with this project.

"I'm not going to lie to you, to be a real Crocodile Dundee, I think 95% of it is the vest and then 5% is just being able to not fall down and stay on your feet", McBride told the magazine.
