Last night, a low-intensity bomb explosion was heard from the pilgrimage centre and two live bombs were detected amid stringent security measures in view of the Dalai Lama's stay.
Gaya Senior Superintendent of police Garima Mallik has confirmed to local media that two bombs were found at the gate number 4 of the Bodh Gaya temple on Friday evening and a "massive search operation is going on at the place".
The officers found a burst thermos flask in the kitchen which led to the small explosion causing panic among the devotees.
"A team of National Investigation Agency, which arrived yesterday, has begun its probe along with the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Bihar police".
