Juan Martin del Potro shrugged off his loss to Roberto Bautista Agut in the ATP Tour's Auckland Classic final on Saturday and declared himself ready for the Australian Open.

"Roberto was just playing so well", said Del Potro, who added he had played most of his matches in Auckland at night and was slow to adjust to the hot and humid conditions on Saturday. He secured the second set 6-4 but couldn't find a way past the consistent Bautista Agut in the decider, falling 7-5 and losing in just over two hours.
