Today marks 76th Anniversary of attack on Pearl Harbor

The USS Kidd Veterans Museum will commemorate Pearl Harbor Day on Thursday morning

The event comes on the 76th anniversary of the day the Japanese attacked the USA naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

On that day 76 years ago, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt declared December 7, 1941 as "a date that will live in infamy", and it has stood as a solemn day of tribute ever since, Walker said. "The 2,402 members of the armed forces who gave their lives that day will always live in our hearts as true American heroes".

1,178 more were wounded. On that day, December 8th, war was declared on Japan and the United States entered World War II.
