Saturday will be mainly cold with sunny spells, with showers of rain turning to snow spreading from the west on Saturday evening ahead of more rain and sleet on another cold day on Sunday.
"It's going to turn much colder again towards the end of the week, and by Thursday into Friday we'll be seeing some snow, some ice and some very strong and cold northerly winds", said Steven Keates, a meteorologist at the Met Office. Temperatures will range between eight and 10 degrees with light southwest breezes.
Today, patchy showers are possible in Wyandotte County before 2 p.m., then a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., the weather service said.
Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high near 46, the weather service said.
Tuesday night is expected to be 42 degrees and rainy, with wind gusts as high as 20 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will kick off the workweek under sunny skies with a high of 51 and a low of 40.
"From there on out it changes to a pattern more like winter with snow showers and high temperatures not even reaching freezing".
There's a 30 percent chance of snow Saturday, which otherwise will be sunny with a high near 39 degrees, the NWS said.
