This new leak indicates Nokia 9 will be another mid-range flagship and not premium flagship smartphone competing against the likes of Galaxy Note 8 and Apple iPhone X.

Weeks after bringing an Android Oreo update to Nokia 8, HMD Global is now all set to release the same latest update for Nokia 3.

The Finnish company, which has released several devices this year after acquiring Nokia, is holding an event on January 19, 2018 in China and the much-hyped Nokia 9 is expected to be announced on the day, according to a report by My Drivers site (in Chinese).

It has been confirmed, by the Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, that the Nokia 3 will skip Nougat and will directly jump on board the Oreo train.

The next-generation handset is also expected to come packed with a 6GB/8GB RAM and a 64GB/128GB internal memory (with microSD card slot), mount a dual camera and house a 3,800mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. Smartphone 3 Nokia will go with Android 7 from on Android 8, with no intermediate versions, and development of firmware has already started. HMD Global launched the Nokia 8 in India back in the month of September and at a price tag of Rs 36,999. Not many details about the Nokia 8 (2018) are known as this point, but it is said to include an 18:9 screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, dual rear cameras and IP67 water resistance. Both the phones will come with a USB Type-C port at the bottom along with fast charging support.
