UFC star Francis Ngannou could well be set for a fight against Britain's Anthony Joshua in 2018, according to the Cameroonian's manager Dewey Cooper.

Including a savage victory against decorated heavyweight Alistair Overeem at UFC 218. He tied the record with a first-round knockout of Junior dos Santos at UFC 211 in Dallas on May 13.

While the UFC has a champion in Miocic and a contender in Ngannou, many believed the fight was far from set in stone due to Miocic's recent contract negotiations.

A victor of five consecutive fights, including two title defenses, Miocic has run through numerous top contenders at heavyweight, but now he'll be facing one of the best prospects to join the roster in several years.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan was there in Detroit for UFC 218 and saw Ngannou's ferocious KO cageside and spoke with Bellator heavyweight Justin Wren about the potential of the native of Cameroon on Rogan's JRE MMA Show podcast. Last week it was announced that Daniel Cormier will defend the light heavyweight title vs. Volkan Oezdemir on the card. It was the seventh knockout victory in "The Predator's" young career.

After dos Santos fell to the canvas, Miocic swarmed the former champion and threw more than a dozen left-handed punches through the guard, and when those strikes went unanswered, referee Herb Dean called a stop to the bout. Miocic also enters the fight on a five fight winning streak and he hasn't suffered a defeat in over three years. Both he and Miocic have finished their past four opponents in the first round. Ngnanou is 11-1 in MMA, and 6-0 in the UFC.
