Kristaps Porzingis is questionable for Carmelo Anthony's return to the Garden Saturday night

New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis expressed his belief Friday that Carmelo Anthony should be well received Saturday upon his return to the Big Apple as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Porzingis has shown an ability to navigate the NY media landscape well; being the Knicks' star comes with incredible scrutiny, but the Latvian-who is still just 22 (!) years old-always says the right thing.

"He knows the arena".

"This win definitely boosts our morale because we've lost games like this and coming back to the Garden is always a show, " Anthony added. The Knicks are now eighth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 15-13, while the Thunder are eighth in the Western Conference at just 13-14. They have relied on ball movement and a solid approach to team defense in the first two months of the season.

Ian Begley and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com reported the news, noting the injury occurred during New York's victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday when his knee twisted in the post. His teammates don't agree.

Porzingis told reporters on Thursday he had left the game after his knee began to feel unstable. His height, athletic ability and shooting touch make him unlike any player the National Basketball Association has ever seen. The point is that Kristaps isn't willing to throw Anthony under the bus in either situation, but also that even those intimately associated with the failures in NY don't know exactly what went wrong. "If he didn't want to win, he would have probably stayed here or went somewhere else besides OKC because he has an actual chance to win". (Friday), we'll find out more. "That takes some time, but their unselfishness and the way they're trying to work together to me I couldn't be any more pleased and happy with that".

Lee pointed to the changes on offense, which have included less of an adherence to the triangle offense that Jackson preferred, as a reason for the Knicks' improvement.

"We'll all be there for Melo", George said. "We can't point at him and say, 'Well, he left.' We made these adjustments". "I had a little shock pain there, and that's it".
