In a press release, Ubisoft Worldwide Studios Executive Director Christine Burgress-Quémard likened the situation to its decision to stop releasing "Assassin's Creed" annually, which led to that series taking 2016 off before "Assassin's Creed Origins" launched at the end of October. Fans still have the option for signing up for the beta for The Crew 2.
In a separate statement, Ubisoft confirmed The Crew 2 developer Ivory Tower will use the extra development time to "perform additional playtests, gather player feedback, and continue working towards delivering an ambitious open-world racing experience that meets the team's and our players' expectations".
In The Crew 2, players will be able to enjoy the widest range of vehicles. Today, Ubisoft has announced that both will be delayed. The original game sold very well for Ubisoft. The game doesn't necessarily innovate or depart significantly from the tried-and-tested Assassin's Creed formula, but it boasts a level of polish and care that make it one of the best titles the franchise has ever produced.
