Brady joined Burnley from Norwich last January and has scored four goals for the Turf Moor club, including a strike in their recent 2-1 win away to Bournemouth.

Brady went down in the 31st minute of the loss at the King Power stadium on Sunday and, after extensive treatment on the field of play, was stretchered off to applause from all corner of the ground. Examinations afterward revealed the full extent of the injury to the tendon, and the midfielder will need a long-term recovery lasting into next summer.

Brady might make it back for the closing stages of Burnley's Premier League season but he will definitely miss Ireland's next two games.

Burnley winger Robbie Brady will have knee surgery after his injury against Leicester and will be out for "substantial time".

"The surgeon, who has done most of our players, was very happy with the work that was done", Dyche told the Burnley official website. "I spoke to him briefly and he's fine, he understands it". It would be too general.

"He will be moving very quickly".

"I think we are in a very healthy position, probably more than I thought".

"Watford, differently, have rotated a group by buying and selling again which is their model, and brought in a new manager".
