Manchester United have been linked with a potential move to sign the German midfielder in the January transfer window or perhaps for nothing next summer.
City nearly completed a deal for Sanchez last summer, only for the transfer to fall through at the last moment due to the Gunners' inability to secure a replacement for the Chilean.
That won't come as any surprise, as Sanchez is available on a free-transfer next summer if, as expected, he doesn't agree a new contract with Arsenal.
The expectation is that City will still have to pay over £50m to get Sanchez in January.

There is a huge likelihood that the pair are playing their hearts out in their bid to attract interest from potential suitors with their futures being up in the air, but there could well be the possibility that they are fighting to stay also. As long as they are here they give their best for the club.
According to the report, Guardiola feels the foundations have been built to mount a challenge on the Premier League and UEFA Champions League crowns this term, and Sanchez would add a key piece of quality to the squad.
Sanchez is out of contract in the summer, leaving Arsenal in the hard position of either cashing in on their star man, or risk losing him for free at the end of the season.
