Sprint will start offering Hulu to its Unlimited Freedom customers

Sprint, Altice USA Set Wireless Partnership

Sprint is including free Hulu with its unlimited plan starting November 17th

A new partnership between Sprint and Hulu capitalizes on this new TV foodscape through a sweet and salty spread of TV-inspired popcorn flavors.

As part of the promotion, Sprint unlimited users will get free access to Hulu's traditional $7.99 per month streaming plan (Hulu now offers the plan for $5.99 as a "limited time promotion").

Sprint Corp will offer its unlimited data plan customers free subscriptions to the streaming service Hulu LLC, the companies said on Wednesday, marking the latest move by a USA wireless carrier to bundle content with mobile service.

Reuters, meanwhile, reported that a Sprint executive said the company is working to offer Hulu's live-TV subscription plan to its customers in 2018, likely at a discount over the service's a la carte cost.

"We know people love watching TV on their mobile devices, so we're making it easier than ever for Sprint customers to enjoy their favorite shows and movies on Hulu", Tim Connolly, senior VP and head of distribution and partnerships at Hulu, said in a statement. This exciting partnership with Sprint gives TV fans nationwide a powerful, seamless entertainment experience that they can take with them, whenever and wherever they want.

Under the agreement, Sprint's unlimited plan, priced at $60 a month for a single line, will cover Hulu's $7.99 a month basic subscription.

Each line on a Sprint family plan would be eligible to get their own Hulu account, so a family of five could each create their own separate accounts.

Along with unlimited talk, text, and data, Unlimited Freedom also includes 10 GB of mobile hotspot. The Netflix offer includes TV shows, movies and original series, like "Stranger Things", "The Crown" and "Ozark". Similar to T-Mobile's deal with Netflix and AT&T's agreement with HBO, the company will continue paying for Hulu as long as customers keep their service with Sprint.

Sprint has been in the middle of a turnaround plan to cut costs and shore up cash.
