The former India skipper was criticised for failing to clear boundaries at regular intervals after the second Twenty20 worldwide (T20I) against New Zealand.

Kohli said that while being critical of Dhoni, one needs to understand that how much time he is getting to bat.

Former cricketers VVS Laxman, Ajit Agarkar and Aakash Chopra were quite critical about Dhoni's place in the Indian T20I side after the Ranchi dasher struggled, yet again, during India's chase of 197 against New Zealand in the second of the recently-concluded three-match series.

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has also given his view on the debate and said that Dhoni should himself realise his role in the team and the team management should also tell him what it wants.

"I'm not able to understand why people are pointing fingers at him", said Kohli, after India's six runs win in the deciding T20I in a curtailed match due to rains, here at the Sports Hub. "With the bat, he did really well against Sri Lanka (away series) and Australia", the skipper reminded everyone. You have to understand the position he comes into bat.

LaVar Ball; his wife, Tina; and LaMelo Ball were having breakfast with the UCLA team in Shanghai on Wednesday morning. Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Thursday that the case was in the hands of local police.

In a candid chat with India TV, Nehra asserted, "If I can bowl fast at the age of 39, Dhoni can also play (in) the 2020 T20 World Cup. I don't think anyone else has the right to decide that for him", Kohli's attacking stance made it evident that team management has full faith in Dhoni. "You understand how the wicket is behaving, in what situation you are in".

He added, "Apart from his brilliant wicket-keeping skills, Dhoni (also) has the ability to read the game as he possesses a very sharp cricketing mind". "He is doing absolutely fine".

India lost Kohli in the 17th over with the score on 123 and Dhoni departed in the final over as India fell short by 40 runs.

Sehwag has said the similar words for Dhoni earlier.
