Multiple students injured in shooting at elementary school in Northern California

The gunman was shot and killed by police, according to reporters on the scene.

Multiple students have been transported after an "active shooter situation" at an elementary school in Tehama County, officials said. "I am told the suspected shooter is deceased from law enforcement bullets", a deputy said.

A 6-year-old and another child are among the injured. "I know that we have children that were attending school in a safe location at this time".

Children and a 30-year-old man are among the gunshot victims, the Redding Record Searchlight reports.

The flight was supposed to land at Hyderabad at 11.15 pm, but finally took off only at 1 am on Monday morning. The flight had to return to the airport to be checked for damage, an was delayed by almost three hours.

An official at the Corning Elementary School District confirmed the elementary school in Rancho Tehama is on lockdown.

All other students had been evacuated from the school, authorities said. At least 100 law enforcement officers have responded to the crime scenes.
