Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader was shot dead by unknown bike born assailants in Punjab's Ludhiana on Tuesday.

Punjab BJP leaders have strongly condemnded the murder of RSS leader of Ludhiana Ravinder Gosain and raised questions on deteriorating situation of law and order in the state.

Reports said the assailants were riding a motorcycle and fled immediately following the attack.

It was learned that Ravinder Gosai was head of Raghunath Nagar Mohan Shakha area.

Gosai, who was 58, died on the spot. The 60-year-old Ravinder was attached with the RSS shakha for the past 30 years. A CBI team led by a DSP-rank officer is camping in Jalandhar since the killing of RSS state unit vice-president Brig Jagdish Gagneja (retd), a case which was handed over to it in August previous year. He was also an office bearer in the regional BJP unit.

This was not the first incident where RSS leader was targeted. He was shot dead on the Kailash Nagar road near his house.
