"This is a teacher in Cliffside Park High School; she isn't allowing the student to express his constitutional right". "I didn't get more offended over the language, I got more offended over the soldier aspect", said high school junior Eren Dayakli.
A student who was present during the class said that the teacher initially asked students speaking in Spanish to stop whispering multiple times. The teacher is heard on the video saying, "They're not fighting for your right to speak Spanish, they're fighting for your right to speak American".

Others online, meanwhile, defended the teacher as a good person and good teacher. "One teacher can not and will never represent the incredible men and women who teach us and who are my friends and fellow students".
"This is a teacher in Cliffside Park High School; she isn't allowing the student to express his constitutional right", Maria Reyes, a 2014 graduate of the school, wrote on Facebook.
"School is supposed to be a save environment for children to learn, not a place where you feel attacked", said freshman Herbert Rodriguez.
What's more, a walk-out was planned for Monday morning.
Those who walked out of the classroom in the video were not reprimanded.
