Megyn Kelly's "Today" debut was as live as it gets on Monday, but her first morning out got mixed reviews, nearly immediately from the early responder news sites and on social media.
Her new show, Kelly said, would focus on the stories that caught the attention of herself and her producers.
Ch-ch-check it out (below)!
Megyn Kelly is over politics. "We will be dissecting the latest tweet from President Trump", she told her audience before knowingly backtracking: "Oh no, we will not do that".
Trump replaces travel ban with new travel restrictions
The U.S. then shared the new baseline requirements with every foreign government in July and gave them 50 days to comply. Trump tweeted shortly after the proclamation's release, writing "Making America Safe is my number one priority".
CNNMoney also didn't have very kind things to say about the program, which went out of its way on the first episode to distance itself from politics - the arena that was Kelly's bread and butter in her Fox News days.
"You know why", she said.
"Now let's get hammered", Kelly said, grinning widely. While it's evident she'll need some time getting used to her new surroundings, the show, thankfully, is more restrained than the program that follows her, the 10 a.m. hour of "Today" hosted by the wine-sipping Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford. "Some fun, that's what we want to be doing".
Then she took questions from the audience - the first from a gushing fan: "What's been your greatest joy?" while moving from hosting a nighttime show to hosting a morning show, he wanted to know.
Kelly's debut week is packed with other morning-show-friendly fare, including a sit-down interview with the cast of This Is Us on Tuesday.
