The required material especially ballot papers were sent to polling stations under the supervision of army which would be safeguarding polling stations throughout Saturday night.

All polling stations in the NA-120 constituency have been declared as sensitive, sources informed Geo News on Thursday.

The polling process will begin at 8am and it will continue till 5pm without any break.

Maryam is handling the Lahore election campaign while her mother and PML-N candidate for the by-poll, Kulsoom Nawaz, undergoes treatment for throat cancer in London.

As the former first lady is now undergoing medical treatment in London, her daughter Maryam spearheaded the campaign in the constituency.

On the other hand, various political parties exhibited enormous influence by holding rallies to impress the voters.

The apex court has fixed September 18 for hearing the petition, a day after the NA-120 by-poll is scheduled to be held in the constituency considered a stronghold of the Sharif family.

PPP's Faisal Mir, Advocate Ishtiaq Ahmad Chaudhry of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Nabeel Shahzad of the Milli Muslim League (MML) had filed the petitions invoking the writ jurisdiction of the high court.

The contesting candidates and workers of the political parties went door to door, persuading residents of the constituency to vote for them.

They said that there were a total of 321,786 registered voters in the constituency with 179,642 male and 142,144 female for which the ECP had established 220 polling stations including 103 for male, 98 for female and 19 combined, where a total of 573 polling booths (312 for male and 261 for female) would facilitate the voters.

Meanwhile, Election Commission, Punjab, issued the list of 29,607 voters of the constituency with missing thumb impressions in the civil registry database of the NADRA, following the Lahore High Court's order.
