Game of Thrones is a series that has prided itself on realism in a fantastical setting. Favorite characters will die. Either way, the White Walkers' invasion will be what gets Jaime to turn on her, like how we wish some loyalists would do to certain presidents in the world. This is especially the case when it comes to traveling speeds in more recent seasons.
Tyrion may have had a moment with Rhaegal and Viserion in Meereen, but for the most part Game of Thrones has not done much to earn a Tyrion is a secret Targaryen reveal.

For Season 7, however, there's been a noticeable fast-forward button pressed on traveling in order to expedite the storytelling, but it appears it hit an apex in "Beyond the Wall". The fewer they become, the better for Cersei to defeat them eventually.
Daenerys and her dragons - Viserion, Drogon and Rhaegal - flew in to rescue Jon Snow and his fearless band of men, who were surrounded by hundreds of white walkers and wights. Many are still confounded by Ser Davos' journey from Dragonstone to Flea Bottom, and then from Dragonstone to Eastwatch, all within one episode - even for the Onion Knight, that's a pretty impressive trip.
