"No tip necessary" has always been a celebrated selling point for customers of the ride-hailing service, Uber, but now drivers can rejoice as the company rolls out a tipping option. Riders have up to seven days to add a tip after their trip is complete. Users will have up to 30 days after a trip to add a tip for rides.

Uber drivers have long asked the company to include the ability to tip in the app. Lyft and Pittsburgh-created CabbyGo welcome tipping.

Some California metros received the feature earlier this month.

The company launched its new tipping feature Monday, which allows riders to give their drivers tips by using a credit card.

He remained in his chamber with Congress minister Awadhesh Kumar Singh until all RJD and Congress MLAs had voted for Meira Kumar. This was apparently because he is a member of the state legislative council and, as such, ineligible to vote.

Tipping will also be available through the company's UberEats food-delivery program.

In an email to drivers, the company said tipping drivers is "100 percent optional". Some drivers put discreet tip jars in their cup holders.

Small steps by the company to improve working conditions and pay for drivers are steps in the right direction, but they are merely a bandage on a much deeper problem of a culture that treats its drivers as disposable.
