Neymar wants to leave Barca, join PSG

Neymar's father reportedly travelled to Paris this week to discuss his son's future.

Verratti is now valued at close to €100m and the Catalan giants hold a long standing interest in the Italian, while Neymar has a release clause of €222m and thus Paris Saint-Germain have to cough up the remaining €122m to activate it.

"Of course Messi is a unique player and he will have a role whereby he can play in any position and play well", Valverde told reporters on Monday.

The Spanish giants are widely expected to bring a new midfielder to Camp Nou ahead of the 2017-18 campaign, with Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti strongly linked with a move to Spain.

The Brazil global joined the Catalan giants in 2013 and has played alongside Lionel Messi, the five-time Ballon d'Or victor who is regarded as one of the greatest players in the world. In 77 games for his national side he has scored 52 goals, proving that Neymar being the main point of attack is lethal.

That figure is expected to increase to £219m in a year's time.

"That's not going to happen", he said when asked if he could imagine Barca without Neymar.

Reports say PSG are circling around Neymar, but Barcelona remain sure the Brazilian will ignore the chance to leave.

'It's not our intention to lose players, certainly not good players. "Playing as he did previous year, he showed that he is still getting better". We've not had any offers for any players in our squad'.

He won the La Liga title with Barcelona in both the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, along with winning the Copa del Rey in each of the last three seasons.

The contract Neymar signed in October 2016 runs through June 2021 and initially included a €200 million release clause, which has since risen to €222 million and will climb to €250 million next season.
