It so happened that during IIFA Awards 2017 held in NY this morning, Shahid Kapoor's wife Mira Rajput was asked by one of the journalists there whether she aspires to be an actress.

The 18th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) was held in the gorgeous city of NY. Shakun Batra and Ayesha DeVitre won the award for the Best Story for Kapoor & Sons.

The music category saw Pritam winning the Best Music Direction for "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", and Amitabh Bhattacharya bagging the Best Lyrics accolade for "Channa mereya".

Actor Diljit Dosanjh who made his Bollywood debut with "Udta Punjab" won the Best debutant award for his role in the movie. In fact, Salman, Katrina, Alia, Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Varun also performed at the main event and set the stage on fire with their performances.

Veterans Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher won best supporting actors, for "Neerja" and the Dhoni biopic respectively. He was one of the nominees in the Best Actor category for his role in "M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story".
