Trump says he is being investigated over Comey firing

President Donald Trump acknowledged for the first time Friday that he is under federal investigation as part of the expanding probe into Russia's election meddling.

The president did not directly address allegations that he is being probed for possibly obstructing justice - a potentially impeachable offense. Brand would make decisions regarding resources for the special counsel probe and would make the final decision about whether a prosecution would take place.

Mueller's office is also probing Jared Kushner's business dealings and finances are as part of his probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election, the Washington Post reports. Replacing the exclamation point with a question mark-"I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director? Witch Hunt", he said.

President Donald Trump complained in a furious Friday morning tweet that he was being investigated for firing former FBI Director James Comey and seemed to accuse the deputy attorney general of overseeing a "witch hunt" against him.

The statement followed several stories in the past few days in The Washington Post and New York Times quoting unnamed sources on the direction of the probe, now in the hands of special counsel Robert Mueller III. Some of his ire is aimed at Rosenstein and investigative special counsel Robert Mueller, both of whom the president believes are biased against him, associates say.

That will only add to a sense of foreboding that pervades the White House, from the crammed collective workspaces of junior officials all the way to the Oval Office. Trump has disputed both claims, saying flatly that he never asked Comey to drop the Flynn probe.

Number of global displaced up to record 65.6 million previous year
The number of people forced to flee has increased with more than 50% over the last five years, up from 42.3 million in 2012. In 2016, 22.5 million refugees fled their home country - the highest number since the agency was founded in 1950.

Pence tapped far-from-average lawyer Richard Cullen, who litigated the 1980s Iran-Contra scandal, the Watergate affair and the 2000 vote recount in Florida.

Trump ignored shouted questions from reporters about the ongoing Russian Federation controversy as he departed the White House Friday for Miami. "However, nothing has changed", said Ian Prior, a Justice Department spokesman. Jake [Tapper], Roger Stone, the president's longtime friend and associate told CNN Money earlier today this, "I'd fire Mueller and Rosenstein for wasting the taxpayer's money". The transition team was led by Vice President Mike Pence.

In another tweet this week, Mr. Trump had said: "After 7 months of investigations & committee hearings about my 'collusion with the Russians, ' nobody has been able to show any proof".

"The Fake News Media hates when I use what has turned out to be my very powerful Social Media - over 100 million people!"

Comey said he typed notes describing the conversations because he was anxious Trump "might lie" later about them.

At a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing last week, Coats and Rogers refused to say whether Trump asked them to intervene in the investigation, which is also examining whether the Trump campaign team colluded with Russian Federation during last year's presidential campaign. And even if they did build a convincing case, responsibility for holding Trump accountable would fall to the Republican-controlled Congress, which won't move against the president so long as he can sign tax cuts for rich people into law.
