Review: 'Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly'

Russian ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak is doing his job in the United States, he had no "sessions" with the U.S. officials, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"That's complete nonsense." Kelly followed up about the reported proposal Kushner made to set up a secure, secret communication channel between the Trump team and the Kremlin, but Putin denied knowing anything about the proposal, ever asking about the proposal, or being interested in the proposal.

"I never met with him", he said.

"Why do feel you have the right to ask us these kind of questions?"

Kelly pushed back on Putin's claims, including saying it sounded like the Russian president was trying to justify his attempts to influence elections.

She asked Putin about whether or not he and his associates meddled in the election, and when he denied it and subsequently flipped the conversation to mention that it is the US that actively interferes with campaigns in other countries, Kelly responded with a smile, "That sounds like a justification".

Later in the interview Mr Putin also addressed claims that alleged he had collected a pre-campaign dossier on Mr Trump.

"This is just another load of nonsense".

Lawmakers should get the chance to hear from fired FBI Director James Comey - and President Donald Trump "is better served by getting all this information out".

"You and I, we have a much closer relationship than with Mr. Flynn". We didnt have any relationship at all.”.

He also brought up the U.S.' history of electoral interference before clarifying Russia saw no need to interfere in 2016, as well as repeatedly denied contact between Russian officials and Trump associates.

A special counsel appointed by the US Justice Department and congressional committees are investigating.

When the conversation turned to former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Putin flat out rejected that the two had any sort of relationship.

Putin said he didn't know anything about Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner attempting to set up a secret communications channel with Russian Federation.

President Trump has called the Russian Federation inquiry a "witch hunt" and the talk of a collusion "a total hoax", although he also has hedged his denials when it comes to those around him.

In several cases, Putin said he was not even aware of contacts reported in American media. Theres nothing to even talk about.

"It's just that French journalists asked me about those hackers". "You created a sensation about nothing".

Putin ridiculed the allegations of Russian meddling in US elections, accusing the Democrats of trying to shift blame for their defeat.

Plus, Putin added, it's the United States that regularly interferes with electoral campaigns around the world.

In a move right out of Kellyanne Conway's book, he then deflected by conflating those accusations with the conspiracy theory that the US government was involved in President John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963.

Comey is to testify Thursday before the Senate intelligence committee. Without wasting time on niceties, the former Fox News primetime host asked the Russian President a slew of questions that have been the hot topics of discussion in the USA ever since President Donald Trump won the Republican presidential nomination. Mr Trump is known to change his mind on major issues.
