Cespedes left Monday's game against the Cubs in the sixth inning for undisclosed reasons, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The Mets have a long way to climb up in the standings.

After Lugo left the game, Jerry Blevins and Addison Reed combined for two ideal innings, giving the Mets a nice end to their trip to Cobb County.

Lackey has surrendered 16 home runs in 12 starts this season, including eight in his last five turns. Braves LHP Eric O'Flaherty was placed on the 10-day disabled list with shoulder tendinitis.

"I think taking three out of four on the road is huge", he said.

Robert Gsellman (5-3) won his third straight start.

Sean Newcomb (0-1) lost in his major league debut despite allowing just one unearned run and four hits in 6 1/3 innings.

The good news for the New York Mets is they are finally getting the starting pitching they expected all season. Cabrera didn't play in the second game.
