The purpose of the Turkish troop deployment in Qatar"is to help foster security and stability across the Gulf" Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu

Pakistan today rejected as "fabricated and baseless" reports that it plans to deploy its troops in Qatar amid diplomatic tensions in the Middle East.

Shiite Iran has had no diplomatic ties with most of the mainly Sunni Gulf states since 2016, when Arab nations followed Saudi Arabia in severing relations after protesters torched its missions in the Islamic republic.

Speaking after diplomatic meetings in Paris, Al Thani said Qatar is ready to negotiate anything "related to the collective security of the Gulf countries" but insisted that Qatari foreign policy is not open to debate.

Gulf states Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, plus Egypt and Yemen on last week announced they were cutting all ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting extremism, in the biggest diplomatic crisis in the region for years.

On Sunday, Qatar said that the 11,000 citizens of those countries that have cut ties will be allowed to stay in the country.

"Kuwait stresses the inevitability of solving this disagreement within the Gulf framework", he added.

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has repeatedly said the blockade of his country is in violation of worldwide law.

The objective of disseminating such stories is to create misunderstandings between Pakistan and Gulf states, he said.
